Modals no longer launch

The ocean modal plugin was working great but it just stopped launching recently. I don’t think there were any significant changes on the backend, just and ocean or ocean extras update ( I don’t remember which). I did add the pods plugin and the “html widgets text” plugin but that’s it.
Debugger indicates there is a problem with chocolat:
TypeError: $j(…).Chocolat is not a function

Could that be part of the problem?
