• Hello!

I’ve been running 2.7 for over a month now, with no recent updates that I know of. For some reason, now when I go to edit a post, it will redirect after several seconds to a blank page.

The only difference I’ve noticed so far is that the categories box appears to be loading another frame. This is only happening in Firefox currently. Safari appears to be unaffected. I’ve attached an image below:

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

  • Mine is doing the same thing and looks similar to yous.. I’ve seen it in the Add New/Edit Post area around the tag and categories widgets. When it does this, it seems to load the entire Edit page within that frame, which itself in turn I suspect tries to load the Edit page again in some sort of infinite-loop thing. I also noticed it happening the Links edit page.

If I restart the browser (Firefox 3.0.5), then the page behaves normally. It only seems to start doing this after I’ve had the browser open awhile.

Wonder if some FireFox or recent Plug-In update is causing it… hmmm. Since it doesn’t do it initially, kind of hard to test things.

It appears this might be related to Firebug in some fashion. If I right-click on Firebug in the status bar and suspend it, the symptom will appear. If I re-enable it, it starts working correctly again.

I disabled Firebug and so far it has not happened again. So, in my case I need to either disable Firebug or Enable Firebug but not suspend it. Weird..

Update on this. It seems that by disabling Gears too I’ve stopped it by happening.

If anyone knows the exact technicalities, I would much appreciate it.

Thank you so much for this information. I was having the same issue with FireBug 1.4.0, and thought I’d share that updating to FireBug 1.4.2 fixed the issue for me.
