  • Hi,

    I’m running WP and was thinking of purchasing your plugin. I’m confused about a few things. I’m using WP Rocket and there is only one place to include my Critical Path CSS. What about the rest of the website and all our other pages? I’m assuming that each page should have it’s own Critical Path CSS. I’m also assuming that your plugin takes care of all this. Am I correct?

    The issue is that we have a live website, and this post concerned me in that if your plugin can’t create the necessary tables in our database and if we get SQL errors – we’re screwed.

    If I purchase the plugin, I’m assuming it’s it will take care of generating all the necessary Critical Path CSS for all our pages. Is that correct?

    If I purchase the plugin, will the current version screw up our database and take down our website?

    If we decide to cancel our monthly service and deactivate your plugin, will it also remove all of it’s database entries as well? I know a lot of plugins will remove the plugin files but will not completely remove all the tables it created.

    Let’s assume that we purchase the plugin and it generates all the necessary Critical Path CSS and let’s also assume we don’t generate an new content, if we cancel your monthly service – does this mean that we will lose all the Critical Path CSS that the plugin has “already” created?

    Please let me know the answers.

    One last question. WP Rocket recommends using this Critical Path CSS generator:

    They also state that you should disable WP Rocket before using this tool. After the Critical Path CSS has been generated, they state what we have to find every relative path and convert it to a full path. For example:

    url(../wp-content/blah blah
    to
    url(https://yourdomain.com/wp-content/blah blah

    Does your plugin take care of generating the full path whether it be to a file within a theme or plugin?

    Please consider adding all these questions to your FAQ.

    First you have some confusion. I do NOT operate criticalcss.com and do not sell anything but maybe my time if im hired as a consultant for a speed related project.

    the goal of the plugin is to automate CCSS with some decent flexibility. it is always advisable to use a dev/staging site to test before deploying. Even I do that on a majority of sites I work on. However that will cost an extra $5 for being another domain for that month.

    If you delete the plugin it currently does not delete the two db tables it creates or its option data which is 1 record.

    If you don’t change content ever you can use with wp-rocket and set the expire time to a year or something. The CCSS refreshes based on wp-rocket expire time when installed. You can also force it to use manually entered CSS in options or post/term entries. The automated functions require a subscription to work and will purge based on expire time.

    To clarify my plugin is only a client to the external 3rd party criticalcss.com service (API). It does not do anything but manage the data it gets and sends, and uses a queue system to process wordpress content.

    Hi Derrick,

    Gotcha. That makes a lot more sense. I thought you and CCSS were one in the same. In regards the the database issue two others reported having a problem with, is there an ETA as to when youll2 have thatbug worked out?

    No, I have not reproduced all issues yet and have to do so to fix the bugs being reported. Its a slow process doing it in my free time and getting the needed information.

    Sounds good. I think you’re onto something very important with your plugin and well needed. Your plugin is a perfect example of “thinking outside the box”. I hope it does well.
