  • Hi there,
the theme documentation is under overhaul and will be updated soon.

That option is not available for the modern style but only for the classical one.

    Hope this helps.

    I am afraid not …

    1) the documentation page you linked to seems outdated, too. You can’t simply switch between styles, you have to modify the wp-config.php to change theme to “modern”. At least that’s what my custmizer says (current version) under “Advanced / Theme-Style”. Maybe the button is only available in PRO version?

    2) I did NOT modify wp-config.php so I infer that I am on “classical” theme. Is this correct? How can I see whether I am on classical or modern? Assuming that I am on “classical”, the option should be there. It isn’t. So I guess this feature is PRO only?

    3) Speaking for me, I can live without an option in the customizer, as I will be happy to change the code in the theme file. Can you tell me just where I find it? I’ll just substitute another SVG code.

    Cheers,
    Alex

Well, it was hard. Should not be so hard to change a default image :-((

    FYI:
The svg is hardcoded (!) in customizr/core/functions-ccat.php, line 1345, function czr_fn_get_placeholder_thumb
BTW: The section is titled “Placeholder thumbs for preview demo mode” which is just wrong, ignore it.

First I tried to move the function to customizr-child/function.php, but that did not work, don’t know why.

Anyway, I then copied functions-ccat.php to customizr-child/core/functions-ccat.php, expecting it to override the original file – AFAIK that is exactly what child themes are for. Surprise: It did not work either.

So I had to modify the original file ??

I replaced the SVG code with my own SVG, but ist did not show as defined in the code.
Turns out, the size/position is modified via CSS, so I had to modify .czr-svg-placeholder via CUSTOMIZR-Additional CSS, forcing the values with !important …

    Regards,
    Alex

Well, of course, this is no real solution.

Correct solution is to use the functions-ccat.php of the child theme.

So: why does this not work?

“Anyway, I then copied functions-ccat.php to customizr-child/core/functions-ccat.php, expecting it to override the original file – AFAIK that is exactly what child themes are for. Surprise: It did not work either.”

I always thought that child theme files override the original files??
