    Try:
manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using FTP/ SFTP , or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (no Dashboard access required). Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding “-old” to the end of the folder name. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme (Twenty Sixteen.). That will force your site to use it.

I had the same problem that lasted 5 days. I accessed the file .htaccess and renamed but still had problem. Finally the plugin causing the problem was WP-Cache which was removed. Problem solves

Let me try the WP cache approach, I installed the wp super cache recently. Unfortunately I don’t have internet service here where I am. Will keep on trying.

I have tried all of the above and the situation still remains the same. What else can I do

    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – Try turning off the firewall during the installation process. – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging

Have you discussed this issue with your hosting provider? If no, I would.

    Also:
    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging

My hosting provider told me that everything is fine with them and adviced me to get a developer.
