• I got a Bitnami WordPress through AWS EC2.
    While editing through WordPress dashboard, I edited function.php file.
    Since then, I can not reach to the dashboard and neither website as well.
    In order to solve this issue, I tried to connect remotely with using Filezila.
    However, it only shows me this message.

    ‘Status: Connecting to (my website’s IP address)…
    Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=8
    Command: keyfile ‘/xxx/zzz/Desktop/weleda.pem’
    Command: open ‘bitnami@(my website’s IP address)’ 22
    Command: Trust new Hostkey: Once
    Error: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)
    Error: Could not connect to server’

    I created a key-pair to use Filezila because I did not make when I got this website’s WordPress account in EC2.
    Now, I have a key-pair file with pem format and applied to Filezila.
    Also, I tried to fill out for host, ‘my website’s IP address’ and for username, ‘bitnami’.
    I’ve tried so many different ways even with Cyberduck, and changing a key-pair file format from pem to ppk.
    In Cyberduck, it required me a password somehow then I can’t connect neither from Cyberduck.
    Yet, it seems there is another issue which I couldn’t find by myself to connect my WordPress account with Filezila.

    Could you please give me your advice in order to recover my WordPress website and dashboard?
    If I can connect to the theme files in my WordPress account, it helps me to recover my website and a dashboard back.
    I’ve asked for a support to AWS EC2, yet, they answered me to ask in WordPress.

    Also, I can’t see a version of my WordPress because I’m unable to check in that in a dashboard.

    Did you backup function.php file BEFORE tweaking it? If yes, try restoring it.

    Hello,
    check your protocol and logon type when a new connection is setup.
    I appreciate if you please also check below article for this issue.

    @t-p and @themesgrove,

    Thanks for your advice.
    But I don’t have any backup since I almost built this WordPress site new.

    That’s why I need to know the way to figure out to connect with Filezila.

    All I need is how to connect my theme files with Filezila to go access to function.php which I’m 100% sure that’s what I know the problem i made is in there.
    But Filezila also doesn’t connect with an error message in above.

    @t-p,

    I followed the way from a URL you shared with me but it still doesn’t work.
    Plus, I get a pop-up from Filezila that “Normal” from site manager is not available for me. And it automatically changes to ask password and asking me to fill out password.

    But it still doesn’t connect.
    I’m sorry I’ve been too much asking yet, if you know any other way to figure out, I appreciate that.

    Thanks a lot for your advice.
