How To Find Username

  • Hi guys, this may be an elementary question. I have an old wordpress site I am trying to delete/ get back into, and none of my emails or usernames from what I can remember works with it. How does one access an old wordpress site? I have requested a new password, but I don’t even know if I have access to the original email anymore. Not sure if I need to go into FTP or what. Ideally would like to do it within wordpress interface.

  • Hi @itspocket,

    If you do not remember your username or email then there only one way you will get the username and email.

    For that go to the database and check the wp_users table where all the existing username and email will be listed there.

    Hi, thanks so much, but now I went in to my database, found the username etc and I reset password in wordpress but now the reset password link wont work and I still can’t log in using the password that I found in the wp_users table for this wp site.

    What do I do ? Is there something in the tables I need to change?
