• I havent made any changes etc to my site at all, and I refreshed my admin panel and got the parse error:

    /html/wp-load.php on line 46″

I re-uploaded a new wp-load.php file, and now my theme that I have installed does not recognise the side bar widgets even though this theme has them enabled.

Can anyone assist me to recover these?

I really do not want to do a fresh installation of all this…

Also, when I try to reinstall version 2.7, I get the following:

    html/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 171

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem starting yesterday. No matter what I did I had errors. I ended up using the manual upgrade instructions (I always auto-upgrade) to delete out nearly everything and reinstall 2.7. That seems to have worked. Did you delete your wp-admin folder before reinstalling? I have better results when I start fresh instead of overwriting. It’s a pain, but sometimes it’s the only thing that seems to do the trick.

Yes I have had to delete EVERYTHING and start over.

Not a happy bunny, particularly because the Import feature will not upload my 6MB xml file, even though the php.ini has it set to 24MB.

Its ridiculous how unstable 2.7 is compared to the previous versions – I never thought it’d happen to me but it has and I suspect there are others who are equally pee’d off.

I have instead been left with no choice but to pay my webhost to restore the last known good state of my site.

Not happy at how this software seems to self inflict damage of this kind, particularly when I hadnt even done anything to facilitate its suicide.
