• I installed wordpress. Tech support for my hosting site says it is copmletely installed. I was working on the site in admin, but now I can’t access the dashboard at all. If I type in the domain, nothing shows up. If I type in domain/wordpress/wp-admin, I just get the “oops” thing. What happened? If I type in domain/wordpress/, the site does open, so it must be installed, but how can I try to fix it it I can’t get into the dashboard?

  • domain/wordpress/wp-login.php should be where the login is.

Even then, I put in my user name and password but it takes me to the “oops page not found”. Even if I try the “lost password” link, it takes me to the same error. How can I get in to my dashboard to even try to troubleshoot?

    Here’s some things to try:
    1. logout or logout with https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?loggedout=true
    2. clear cookies
    3. exit browser
    4. make sure local firewall is not causing problem
    5. login with https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php
    6. disable all plugins–if necessary read How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?

If WordPress is installed in something other than the root folder please take that into account for the above url examples

Please let us know what does solve your problem.

No dice. My designer has been trying to troubleshoot from a completely different computer as well. I was in the dashboard working on some stuff right after I installed wordpress, but when I would enter the domain name “domain.com” the site would not load. Now I can not access anything, but when you type in domain/wordpress/ the page loads just fine. Hosting is through Godaddy, and they tell me the problem has to be through wordpress.

I’ve tried everything, but nothing is working.

What worked for me was deleting the active theme. When I then tried to access the dashboard ( typing “/wordpress” after the site address), a log-in page for WordPress came up, I logged in, and there was the Dashboard.
