Adding content below title and above the featured image for food blog theme

I need some help placing text content between my featured image and the title. I’d like to add shortcodes or text excerpts if possible to display on the homepage and individual posts (specifically, i want to display the meta description below each post title). I know I’ll have to use code but I’m not sure where to place it or how. I use the nimbus theme food blog theme
