Hello. My site is setup as WP Multisite, with one main site and a network of six subsites. My server admin has installed an SSL certificate and enforced https across our site. But several links on my main site and subsites are still pointing to http. For example, menu items pointing to my subsites still point to the http version of the URL, rather than the https version. Additionally, when viewing media items in Media–>Library, their URLs appear as http instead of https. What steps do I need to carry out to fully ensure these URLs are changed to https?

This Codex page gives some instructions, but none of them appear to apply to my situation. My site is on the same server as before, and is using the same domain name as before.

This WPMUDEV post indicates that I need to edit a few database files. But it is unclear whether that would resolve my issues with menu item and media item URLs.

One thing I have already done is go to Network–>Sites and changed the “Site Address (URL)” to the https version. But that did not resolve my menu/image issues.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Might want to check into using a search & replace plugin to change all of the URLs in your database to https. I’ve used Better Search Replace in the past with success.

Of course it’s a good idea to make a backup of the database before you do that.

Thanks. I went with that plugin and it worked.
