• Hello!
I am new to wordpress, trying to immerse myself as much as I can, but in all the forum topics/web support, I haven’t found anything that quite addresses what I’m hoping to do.

I have a blog that is regularly updated and an about page that needs to be sporadically updated. Multiple people will be doing the updating, and I want it to be able to happen from the WordPress Interface —— If their post is under any category except “About” it goes to the normal blog front page. However, if they make the category any one under the “About” parent category, I want it not to show up on the front page but instead be posted to the About page.

What’s the best way to do this??

I installed the Category Killer plugin, which worked keeping the About posts off of the main page. I also installed the List Category Posts plugin, b/c I thought it would let me display all the pots in Category on one page. However, it only listed the titles as links to the individual posts, and I wanted it to display like the main page–Title, Date, Post Text, Comments

Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions of how to go about it?

    Thanks alot!!

  • If the Advanced Category Excluder or Custom Query String Reloaded plugins won’t work for you, then consider creating a Page Template, then in that Page Template use the template tag, query_posts(), to display posts in those categories you wish. After you create the Page Template assign it to a Page.
