Extra long post causes blog to stop loading

  • I have a really, really long post on my blog, and whenever it gets to that post, the blog will stop loading and the rest of the blog posts (beyond the title and heading of that long post) as well as the menu on the right stop loading completely and never show up. Refreshing the page doesn’t help as it does the same thing every time. If I’m really lucky, it’ll get that long post but then stop at the heading of the post after it. Is there anyway I can get the whole page to load?

    Why not break it up in several pages? Just wondering…

    Is this happening on your main page, or on the specific post’s page?
    Suggestions:
    1) If it’s only on the main page, try using the <–!more–> tag a couple of paragraphs in. This will give the users a MORE link to click on to get the full story.
    2) Use the n-page to break your post up into multiple pages.
    What plugins are you running? I’ve got several posts that are reaaaaaaly long – they are chapters of a book – and they’ve never hung up the site or anything.
