The EU VAT Assistant provides classes and functions to allow showing the VAT information on the invoices, but it doesn’t “inject” VAT information in them, out of the box. This is by design, as we noticed that most merchants would like to show the VAT information in specific locations, or in a specific layout, so we left this kind of customisation open to the merchant.
To show VAT data, you can customise your invoice template, to show the VAT rates and amounts, using the classes and functions provided by the EU VAT Assistant (see classes EU_Invoice_Helper
and EU_Invoice_Order
). You can also use the functions they provide to show a “reverse charge” note, when VAT is not charged on B2B intra-EU transactions. If you’re not familiar with this kind of task, We also provide this service, if you need. That’s how we are able to give the EU VAT Assistant free of charge.
Alternatively, you can also contact the author of the PDF Invoices & Packing Slips plugin. If I’m not mistaken, the premium templates can show the VAT information.
Of course, you can always use a mix of the two solutions, for example to show the VAT amounts using the built-in functions in the PDF Invoices plugin, and the “reverse charge” note using the functions from the EU VAT Assistant plugin. It’s quite a flexible tool.
