Page Template dropdown not appearing

  • I’m running into the weirdest issue here.

    On localhost, the ‘Page Template’ dropdown is not appearing on the actual edit page, but it is appearing if I use ‘Quick Edit’:

    However, if I upload this to my multisite install, everything works as expected and the page template list appears on the page.

    My localhost install has no plugins activated at the moment, and I’ve tried this with multiple themes (including twentyseventeen). I have multiple WP installs in MAMP, and my other install works as expected.

    I’m guessing it’s a setting in MAMP, but I can’t figure out what that would be, and my Google Fu is failing. What am I missing?
