Reset OG Properties for a Specific Page?

  • Hi Michael,

    Love the plugin, and appreciate how easily it solved my FB thumbnail challenges.

    I’m trying to reset the OG properties for the linked page. FB debugger is reading them perfectly, however, the OG properties (in view-source) are for a single performance among a long list of performances, but not the one I’d like to highlight on FB. I’ve tried resetting the object type to “product.group” and adding a featured image in the page editor; also tried disabling OG tags for that page, but don’t see any change in the OG properties when I view-source.

    I will appreciate your advice.

    Follow-up: Is it possible to deactivate the plugin for a single page? In my staging site, this page (the link above) works fine if I deactivate the plugin overall, but of course, I really want to leave it active for the rest of the site. I’d like to have my cake and eat it too, please. ?? Still trying to reset/undo the OG properties for this particular page so that FB doesn’t display an individual performance (OR it displays an individual one of my choosing). Thank you.

    Hi,

    If ‘performances’ is an actual page that you can edit in WP Admin, then it should work as expected. Unless ‘performances’ is being affected by some other script or plugin in some way. Honestly it’s impossible for me to tell unless I had access to your site.

    As for the other question, yes you can disable the plugin from outputting open graph meta on specific pages or posts – just tick the ‘Disable for this page’ checkbox and save.

    Thanks for your reply. The page is script-driven, and isn’t responding to “disable for this page” nor other edits to featured image or meta info. So, I’ll work around it for FB and Twitter posts.

    I appreciate your help.
