I didn’t even know I’d enabled Photon, I am going to have to deal with this on a dozen or more sites.

I use tiled galleries on many sites, and I understand (and am very reluctantly going to accept that in the short term at least I will have to use Photon with tiled galleries), but I do not want Photon serving up any other images on my sites.

How can I enable Tiled galleries and not use photon elsewhere? Photon has already screwed up one of my sites, and I want to kill this problem before I encounter the issue on others.

And as an alternative solution, Can anyone recommend a solid replacement for Jetpack’s tiled galleries that’ll serve up my tiled galleries using the existing short code without me having to recode 100’s of pages across a dozen or more sites?

To save some time to with the above link, to see the issue scroll to the bottom of the page where all the images are blurred and cannot be fixed.

I am now encountering this problem on other sites, and I have a huge number of posts that include Tiled Galleries, fixing this is a nightmare.

Sorry about the delay in writing back to you.

To do so, you can go to this page and disable the Photon module:

That’s helpful, thank you. It seems to be a conflict between Photon and the plugin you use to output Related Posts on your site (Contextual Related Posts I believe). The plugin seems to call for image thumbnails from WordPress, and then I believe receives those images with the size specified for thumbnails under Settings > Media in your dashboard. In most cases, that thumbnail size is set to 150×150, soft crop (which means that if an image doesn’t have that square image ratio, WP will create a thumbnail that respects the image ratio; you will consequently end up with an image that is 150px high or long, but that has a shorter length.

I don’t think your Related Posts plugin accounts for that custom size and soft crop, as it always resize the images to 150×150, although your thumbnails appear to be set to 50×50 soft crop. I would suggest checking your Related Posts plugin settings: maybe it includes image settings that you could adjust.
It might also be worth checking your media settings as well.

Let me know if it helps.

That’s a great link, and it’s enabled me to disable Photon — as I can see from the URLs the images are now being served up from — The issue as you rightly pointed out with Contextual Related Posts Is still there on old images despite a full reload of the page, I’ll have to try some other things as it may be I need to turn off and restart Caching again.

I think this is resolved as far as my original query is concerned in that I now have a way of turning off Photon on my sites. In all the research I did I didn’t see a link to the page you suggested. So thank you very much.
