Could you please specify the version of the plugin that provoked such situation?

I has had the same white screen (500 error) after 4.3.4 update.
It seems that plugin update deleted or not created one folder: ../public_html/wp-content/plugins/captcha/bws_menu
I fixed this, by downloading this folder from bestwebsoft repo: https://github.com/bestwebsoft/google-captcha-recaptcha-wordpress-plugin
