• ITSec adds lots of ‘itsec-lock-backup’ records to the _sitemeta table in my database. About 50000 records a day.

I cant’t figure out how and why this is happening. In the Global preferences I set Log to ‘File’ but that doesn’t work either.

I use ITSec 6.4.0 on a WP network site (4.8.1).

    Can someone help me out?

Is there any indication the database backups are failing ?

Like not receiving the backup email or no backup files being created in the
    wp-content/uploads/ithemes-security/backups folder ?
(Do note absence of any of these could also be explained by the backup settings you are currently using).

Anyway also check the server error_log for any relevant errors.

    Never mind.

iThemes released an update (6.5.1) yesterday that includes a fix for 2 bugs that contributed to this issue.

    According to the 6.5.1 Changelog:

Bug Fix: Fixed logical error that prevented backups from executing.
Bug Fix: Fixed issue that could cause database locks to flood the database.

Installed the update. I’ll wait and see what’s going to happen. Thanks for your help.

    Ok, no problemo.

If updating the plugin to 6.5.1 indeed fixes the issue please update this topic with your confirmation.

Oh, one other thing. I don’t think the plugin will remove the extra ‘itsec-lock-backup’ records from the wp_sitemeta table. So you will probably need to do that yourself. Removing these records will also help in determining whether the issue is resolved or not ??
