We just moved our website to https and I was looking at the links in our database that still point to the http version. I noticed quite a few of these links in the table yoast_seo_links. Should I update these links to point to https?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to confirm what links you’re referring that you found on the yoast_seo_links table. However, if you’d like you can change this manually. Before doing so, we suggest you please take a backup of your website.

I’m also not sure what those links are, that’s why I’m asking you. I switched to https site, should those links point to http or should they be updated to point to https?

We expect that the links in your database should automatically be updated to the HTTPS if you’ve implemented the HTTPS in your site correctly. Please, make sure that you’ve added the HTTPS directly from the WordPress Settings -> General -> Website URL and Site URL field.

Yes, I have updated the links under Settings -> General, but the links in the database are still pointing to the http version of the posts.

    Hi,

The yoast_seo_links table come from the Text Link Counter which is shown in the SEO-Dashboard-General. That is where we store the counted text links. We are not sure why the links in that table in the database are not showing as https. We would expect that if the https was implemented correctly the links would change in the database.

Can you confirm that if you go to a post or page which has an internal link on it (see image: https://pasteboard.co/GHiCyPG.png and mouse over the link or go to edit the link…the link shows https or does it still show http?

It shows https. I went to a post that was created before the https switch, just to make sure.

@cofkocof If you’d like you can change the HTTP to HTTPS manually from the database. Before doing so, we recommend you please take a backup of your website.
