Comments not working in IE

I’m new to WP. I am having an issue with comments. My site works great in Firefox (latest version as of Sept 24), but comments do not work in IE. You can click the comment link in IE, but all that shows up is:
1 Comment ??
Powered by WordPress
Another issue (that I think is related) is the “Powered by: Word Press” bar does not show up in IE.
Any suggestions?
