• This has been my problem for so long, but I think it’s better to explain my problem using the “wordpress layout perspective” so I think I must get on with it…
It’s really awesome to create a menu on the side of a blog using the <div> tag. But how do you do it such that it extends only TOGETHER with the number of posts (content) that are in the main page? Because my layout looks awful. Please check out my website:
    https://shireyu.uk-ds.com
I specified a height (about 1000px) for the <div> tag so that, if ever the posts get too long then the layout would still be fine (almost). But what peeves me is that the <div> (menu) overextends itself, making it appear that there are so many posts, when in fact, there isn’t yet. How do you fix this? I shall appreciate whatever help you can accord me. Thanks…

  • Maybe that article from “A List Apart” is what you are looking for …

I see (safari + firefox) two issues.
    1. your right menu is laying on top of your content a little bit.
    2. your page is helluv long.
for the page height, i would try reading up on the aricle here:
    https://www.alistapart.com/articles/fauxcolumns/
this may help you to revise your approach for your colums.
as for where your footer has gone, i suspect there is an open div somewhere… and that might explain a lot.
go over your divs and be sure they are all closed.
    hope that helps a little.

bang! xeophin… faster than my chatty ass.

Yeah, but your comments are much more complete … I never looked at the code, just noted the common problem and searched the article on ALA …

I deleted the footer because I wanted to… hehehe… and I also read the article in the website ALA. I think I have to try it. I have to get back to you if I have other more problems with this. Thanks ??
