• Hi all,

Hope this is in the right forum. After my website has worked fine for a couple of weeks (at least I thought), the homepage stopped translating. Everywhere else the translation switch works fine, only the homepage stopped working. I ran across this issue on multiple forums but none of the answers work for me.

I thought I could fix the issue by redirecting the home URL to /home/, but as soon as that worked, /home/ was stuck on the language it landed on too. What does this mean?

qTranslate does not offer support anymore so I’m a bit stuck. Does anyone have experience with this issue?

  • To solve this problem you need to make a static content widget like I have done it on my greymarket site. What I have done is I have put all static content in a widget, so I do not have to use the static page. Now by downloading the “Display Widgets” plugin, you show your static content to the desired page. This will solve the translation problem. You can do following steps:

    1. Add a static content widget via this link. This is WordPress header widget code from wpbeginner.com.

    2. Now set everything up and move your static content to the header widget.

    3. Download the “Display Widgets” plugin and make the header widget visible only to the main page.

Thats it. Now check the translation switch. It will work fine.

    Hi ipoindia,

Thanks for your reply! Just to double check… Only my productgallery is not translating properly. The static content (such as the menu, title, footer) is translating correctly with the language switch.

When I duplicate my entire front page to a widget, the productgallery won’t be up-to-date at all times, right?

I think this is the problem of the woo commerce plugin. When I checked your index or the main page I found that the static page content is coming through the woocommerce plugin. I am 100% sure that the javascript and the frame are making problem translating the page. The product you are listing is inside the frame I think and this is why the page is not translating into English. You do some R&D and it will be OK.
