• Hi,

When my site sends emails, through different plugins, like WishList Member, or other test email plugins, they are all ignoring any sort of paragraph tags. The plugins take straight text, with me having carriage returns, but when the emails are received it is all on one line. For example:

    “Hi User,

    Thanks for signing up”

    is received in email like:
    “Hi User,Thanks for signing up”

All paragraphs are concatenated into one long line.

Is there a setting or something somewhere that may have gotten triggered to do this? It used to send emails without issue. I’m not aware of a setting that was updated, but then there are others who go in as admin to.

Any thoughts or ideas to try to fix this is appreciated.

    thanks!

  • Hi @nairbo,

Would you be able to confirm if you are using the plain text editor in WishList member or if you have tested an html version as well?

Please could you also confirm which mail client you are testing in?

    Thanks for the reply, krisjl!

I’m not aware of using any other WLM editor. I go to settings>email settings and use their templates for entering text. This used to work as is, but for some reason has stopped recently (not exactly sure when it stopped, as I was just notified). I have also loaded an email plugin for testing and it acts the same way, when entering text into their test email box, all paragraphs are concatenated.

I’ve viewed emails sent in both Thunderbird and Gmail.

    Thanks for confirming @nairbo.

It looks as though the two separate options I had seen are only in the email broadcast option, not in email settings.

In their release notes, it mentions that HTML support has been added to the e mail settings page.

Please can you let me know if you have tested adding an HTML version as well as a plain text version?

    Thanks, krisjl!

I went over settings too many times, and never noticed this setting. What is interesting is that I was told these used to work (new to supporting their website). But, now that I have checked the “support HTML tags” and added <p> tags, the emails are working again. So, I have no idea if they were working or not previously, or if someone removed the HTML tags or what. But, I will at least get them going for WLM.

    Thanks again for your help!
