Change Side Bar Menu

Do you mean to change the template used for the page? In Mooberry Book Manager settings menu click on book page and you can set the template. You can do the same on the book grids setting page.

Not really the Template. In creating or editing a Post or a Page there is an option called Sidebar Selection and then you can select the Sidebar for Header Right, Primary Sidebar, and Secondary Sidebar. So, for instance, changing the Primary Sidebar will change what shows up on the Page.

That sounds like something specific to your theme. You could check your theme settings to see if there’s a way to include custom post types in that setting.

I guess what confuses me is that Moobery Book Manager provides the Sidebar Selection Option when I Add/Edit a Series, but not for a Book? The below link shows what is in the Series Page that I’m looking at now and wanted to be able to do in the Book Page?

No, that is not standard. That’s from your theme.

Books are custom post types. Series are taxonomies. So they are different types of objects. It appears your theme automatically adds those settings to any taxonomy, but not to custom post types. You’ll have you look into your theme’s documentation to see if you can turn on that setting for custom post types.

Since I have you – real quick. When I setup a Book Grid and Group by Series it shows Stand-alone books first and then Series books. Is there a setting to change this Order and even some Custom Code that will Show Series books first and then Stand-alone books?

Grrr, I’m almost there. I created a item in Series, but I can’t find the URL for it so I can reference it.

What I mean by my last comment is when I plug in https://www.petercruikshank.com/dev/series/dragoncalled/ which was the correct link for the series, I get a Not Found, error 404. I saw the Series Page once before, but now it’s gone. What could have caused this??

The page seems to be working fine for me. Are you still having problems with it?

There is not a way to do that via the settings at this time. And looking quickly through the code I’m not sure there’s an easy way to do it via custom code in the current version. I think the only way would be to hook into the mbdb_book_grid_content filter and split out the HTML.

Not having a problem with the Series – sorry about that.

Maybe put the Book Grid Ordering on the list for next update. I think a lot of people would like to have the option to have the Series Books show up first and then Stand-alone books.
