Enabling Page Comments freezes Elementor

  • I’m running WP 4.8 with the Generate Press 1.3.48 theme and Elementor with Press Elements. The site appeared to be running OK until I discovered that I could no longer edit most of my pages. They still displayed OK: but Elementor hung with a blank main panel whenever I tried to edit the page with it. When I disabled Press Elements, the Elementor editor would load: but then I would lose my page titles and comments sections. I was using the latest version of Elementor: but even rolling back to 1.4.10 failed to resolve the issue.

    I’ve finally traced the problem as far as discovering that if I go into a page’s initial edit page, uncheck Discussion/Allow Comments and click Update, I can then open Elementor and edit quite happily. Any existing comments are also displayed. But if I subsequently check Allow Comments again, the Elementor editor is again disabled.

    Any suggestions?

  • This plugin is not compatible with Elementor anymore. If I add any of these widgets to a Post or Page and save, then I can no longer Edit with Elementor. Elementor keeps loading and loading and loading. It will never load. I have to delete the page and start over again. Seems to be the same problem from a few weeks ago.

    Any fix or resolution coming for this?
