Embed .wmv and .mov files directly from URL

  • Hi,

    I can upload file types like .mp4 .wmv .flv .avi .mov .3gp …..But when it comes to embed video files, only .mp4 files are being embedded on my website. The Embed Media Player option under the ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS is gone for file types other than .mp4…….

    I want to enable auto embedding option for other file types too. Specially for .wmv, .mov file types. So that the files are automatically embedded when I upload them using wordpress default “add media” feature.

    I don’t wanna do it using any plugin or short-codes. I just want it done in the way it is done for .mp4 files.

    Well you have to use a plugin for that. Or directly code that functionality into WordPress.

    Can you help me with the code? Actually, I am letting others upload videos and post from within the text editor area, don’t want them mess with the plugin or shortcode. They should be able to upload and embed these types of video very “normally”.

    Best way to do it is via plugin.
