Topic Order in bbp style pack not working

  • I have been trying to get the Topic Order setting in bbp style pack
    to work but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything (changing anything) when this setting is activated. I wanted the display order to be ‘Latest Reply date (Display topics in the order of the latest reply)’ , and ‘Descending’, but my forum is still showing the latest reply at the bottom. Anyone has any idea why this is happening?

    ok, that is the default order, so you should not need to activate that section.

    can you check that you have clicked ‘activate’ above where you do the selection.

    If you have just unclick it and it should show in the order you want.

    Thanks @robin-w for your response.
    I have unclicked the ‘Activate’ box and the forum still looks exactly the same with the oldest reply at the top, on the front page. So whether the Topic Order section is activated or not, it is not giving me the results I am after.

    May I ask, is that ho most forums are set up, to have the most recent reply at the bottom of all replies, and on the last page, or is it normal to have the most recent right at the beginning at the top of the first page?

    that one.

    If that’s not what you have, it could be a theme or plugin issue

    Plugins

    Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

    If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

    Then come back

    Not resolved yet. Still wondering if I should deactivate all plugins etc. It is okay if you want to mark as resolved or delete the whole ticket.

    no, I’ll remark it as unresolved, otherwise it will drop off my radar.

    Unfortunately so many don’t bother to post back that they are fixed !!

    Given that you have issues elsewhere with your site posted on bbpress, I’d suggest you take a day out to create a test site.

    Then you can happily test without risking your live site
