• Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to setup an dedicated administrative front-end with plugins which are required for internal functions such as order management, invoicing etc?

The reason being, that our list of plugins is constantly growing impacting host performance. The majority of the plugins however are not needed to serve the site to our customers. Hence the idea of having one front-end dedicated for internal plugins (many plugins) and keep the front-ends serving customers light (few plugins).

I can delete plugins from one host while keeping all of them on a second host, but I am wondering if this will have any unforeseen negative side effects?

Looking forward to your replies – Christoph

  • If the administrative plugins slow down front-end, they are poorly written plugins. Anyway it can be fixed with removing this plugins code from pages where it is not needed (dequeue scripts etc.).
