image hyperlinked to most recent post

  • What template tag can I use to hyperlink an image. Tried this but doesn’t work, may be going about it all wrong (very likely).

    a href="<?php wp_get_archives('type=postbypost&limit=1&format=link'); ?>"><img src="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/images/sawdustweekly.jpg"></a>

    Is it just me or does this forum suck for getting answers to questions. Every time I search for related post all I get are others unanswered questions.
