Replacing the image carousel

  • I love the features that Jetpack has to offer and I love to use the tiled gallery feature. But I’m not a big fan of the fullscreen image carousel.

    I am looking to replace the carousel by deactivating it and loading fancybox 3 instead. I was looking at a simple approach, where I just add data-fancybox="images" to the image link in the gallery and let Fancybox 3 handle the rest.
    I haven’ been able to find any functions to tap into, so I could add the data attribute.

    Is it possible?

    Sorry about the delay in getting back to you!

    You can disable the carousel module without deactivating tiled gallery. To do so you’ll need to view the full Jetpack modules list by going to Jetpack > Dashboard, scroll down to the bottom, and click the Debug link:

    Then click the link that says “Access the full list of Jetpack modules available on your site.”

    From there you can deactivate ‘Carousel’.
