Can’t save settings on profile page

As simple as it is… I’ve setup everything correctly, but when I try to save my profile, it says that it has been updated successfully, but the settings are the same as before. When I tried to change my last name for example, it doesn’t work over the User page… But it does work over the standard profile-editing page.
Please help!
