CSS conflicts with WP Hide Security Enhance

Hi Philip,

With a default install of the specified plugin, I can’t see any immediate issues – definitely no issues with the file browser.

Have you noticed any specific settings that may break the functionality?

Thx Shane, that is correct, a default install does nothing until you change paths, i.e. /wp-content to /my-content for example, /plugins to /exts, etc. Once the paths have changed and opening up ACE, clicking on the “real” folder such as /plugins just endless spinner and nothing shows in wp_debug.

Additionally some css…mainly font-family places cursor several spaces away from where one is editing making it difficult to type/edit.

WP Hide and Security plugin claims that the file structure is left alone and only uses htaccess rewrites in a way that other plugins using proper wp handles should also work.

I’ve tried plugins like this in the past and they always broke something. I thought I’d give this one a try and I was pretty impressed, especially when inspecting the underlying front end code. Would be cool if Ace worked with it as well.

I’m not a big “security by obscurity” guy but if I can make some basic structural changes and the hits to wp-login.php are reduced, I’ll take it.

I’ll definitely have a look into those paths. However the CSS is not something I think I’ll be able to do anything about unfortunately, the other plugin author may have to simply target the page better if he can. I’ll have a look either way, however I can’t see anything changing there on my part.
