Company name/DBA section must be either 3, 7 or 12 characters and the product descriptor can be up to 18, 14, or 9 characters respectively (with an * in between for a total descriptor name of 22 characters).

    Hi f150harley,

Do you mind clarifying what your question is? The character limits on fields are set by Braintree, so there is not a way to increase those limits through the plugin.

Also please note that those are limits. The values you choose can be less than the limits specified, but not greater.

Thanks Phil for getting back to me so quick.
I’m receiving this error when checking out using a credit card. Not clear to me if I’m populating the correct fields in woo as the exception being thrown by the code is using different terminology.
    Dynamic Descriptors
Dynamic descriptors define what will appear on your customers’ credit card statements for a specific purchase. Contact Braintree to enable these for your account.
Please ensure that you have read the documentation on dynamic descriptors and are using an accepted format.

Also, just finished conversing with Spencer and Jackson on your Chat helpline. They seemed to think it was wordpress theme related…. tried a couple of other themes = same result. Did cursory research on “StoreFront”, WooCommerce ver 2.2.4 (most current) and everything seems to indicate that it should be compatible with your gateway. Internet research did point out the need to manually (user) update of other vendor’s themes who had similar error messages returned. Also, found some reference that the exception logic (error) message needs to be re-worded likely because it doesn’t reflect well all the possible scenarios where this error message will be thrown by the application.

    Hey @f150harley,

Storefront is fully compatible with this plugin. So provided you haven’t made any customizations to the theme’s code – it won’t be the issue.

For the dynamic descriptor information, you share, TakeOnAdvent by itself would not be a valid entry for the Name field. You would need to have at least an asterisks following that, as the asterisks is a required separator. You could then have up to 9 additional characters following it:

This doc will show you examples.
