Multiple Installs

  • I now have 4.8 installed. But I had numerous false starts, and there are more deleted installs, still in my queue, that I hope to get out of there. They aren’t deleted fully enough. I do have a theme, (2017) And I do have a few pages, but I have much untangling to do. I’ve bothered the poor folks across the planet more often than I care to admit.

    I made one install not in the public_html folder, and when I want to amend my site, I still often end up amending the wrong one; one I deleted. My biggest difficulties are at the starting gate. And yes, that leads me to fume over the wordpress design. I confuse passwords with one another. In turn I can’t get in to my site, then really get wound up. If this forum only knew the difficulties I had reaching THIS page…
    I know the readers of this rant aren’t the ones responsible for my difficulties, but I feel a strong interest in making it less difficult for my self to access my site.
    With whom should I get in touch so I can successfully untangle the knot I keep getting into, and with whom would I reach so that I can make the startup process easier for my self.

    You can just start by telling us what the problem you’re experiencing is exactly or where do you get confused and pretty much whoever is available at any time will chip in his comment.

    So what would be the case here and how could we help ?

    Thanks for responding. My biggest problem seems to be confusing passwords I use with my web host with the one I use for wordPress. This is more a functional issue on my part, I must admit, but once I get started I often confuse entry pages with one another. Slowing down on my part is part of the solution, certainly, but I’m hoping for a user interface which does more than shake violently if I have the wrong password. Yes, I DO write the passwords down in secure locations, but on the user interface I’d love to see a greater differentiation between ports of entry so that I’m less confused. I’ve learned to keep an eye out for possible solutions when I encounter problems, and feel willing to be part of a solution. Is there some group within these forums that focuses on the user interface and the screens that come up?
