• I am using a theme which has a menu bar which displays top level pages and sub-pages as drop downs from the menu. Is there any way of adding pages to a theme like this which don’t display in the menu bar. I don’t want to use the ‘private’ pages option as these have ‘private’ in front of the page title.

I haven’t upgraded to 2.7 yet because others have reported problems using category feeds with the new version and the site I’m building depends on these functioning.

Many thanks for any help with this.

  • I’m not sure if this answers you, Andrew, but I *think* I had the same issue, and got around it by using pages, instead of posts, or something, and then manually creating links.

Check https://www.listerhome.com and you’ll see that I have all my ‘Sections’ in the menus. Select a section, for example, flight training, and then I have all the posts manually linked from there.

Again, not sure if this is what you’re trying for.. I’m new to this blogging stuff, so I am probably way off.

Thanks Craig – I’ve just figured out how to do this: you make the page to which the home page is a sub page ‘private’.

Have just added your blog to my favourites: used to fly gliders myself, see a few posts at https://www.mindworksblog.com (this isn’t the site I’m working on.)
