Hi, this plugin seems to do something i want to do. I’d like to ask some things.
I have several custom post types, i want those cpt to use different domains than the one where wp is installed.

    so newdomain.tld/ <- domain.tld/cpt-1/

    1) As i see it when someone access domain.tld/cpt-1/ they’ll be redirected to newdomain.tld, correct?

    2) Also when someone access (single post) domain.tld/cpt-1/single-post-1 they’ll be redirected to newdomain.tld/single-post-1, correct?

    3) What would happen on the index of domain.tld? Will posts link to domain.tld/cpt-1/single-post-1 or newdomain.tld/single-post-1?

    4) What about permalinks on search results pages, tags, categories pages of domain.tld? Will the links point to domain.tld/cpt-1/single-post-1 or newdomain.tld/single-post-1?

    5) What happens with YAOST SEO sitemap? Will it reflect the new domain links or not? Is there a plan to implement it?

    6) I’m using permalink manager plugin to change default %postname% to %post_id% on my CPT, would this plugin conflict with that or it shouldn’t?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the plugin.

    Hy,

sorry but i will not answer all your questions – most of them are described in the plugin description and FAQ section. I can not tell you if it works with “permalink manager”, you will have to try that out.
In fact, it is always best to set up a test-site, where you can see if everything works like you expect it and then build a live site with it ??

please note that the plugin does not “redirect” you, as you mentioned it. there are other plugins for that purpose. this plugin will change all links which contain the URL’s defined in the mappings and display content within this new URL’s.

please report back if you have any questions after trying it out.

Thanks it cleared some doubts for the rest i will test myself.

I’m a bit confused that say it doesn’t redirect. because on the description it sounds like it does:
It is not only a redirection, instead the additional domain will display the content from the specified page…”
“Not only” means it redirects AND does something else besides that. Maybe it’s just poor word choice.
Also then the plugin is tagged “redirect”. I’m not sure who put that there but if it doesn’t redirect maybe it shouldn’t be tagged “redirect”.

Are you able to specify a plugin that would play nice together with this one for the redirects part?
