• I use quite a bit of quoted material, and like the block quote style of placing the quote in a box, which makes the quoted content easily distinguishable from my own. I know that I can add the blockquote tag manually, but is there any plugin or any modification I can do to be able to quickly designate a block quote (i.e. a button on the formatting toolbar)? Ideally, I’d even like to add a small inline image to preface quotes.

I’m no dummy, but I’ve spent a lot of time Googling, as well as browsing through the CSS of my site, and I’m coming up with nothing.

Forgive me if the answer is really obvious.

Hmm. The HTML editor has a b-quote button. Just highlight the text you want in a blockquote and click it.

Oddly enough, there is no similar button in the Visual editor.

Thanks for the reply, Otto42. Didn’t see the button on the HTML side, so at least the apologies in advance weren’t wasted. ??

I would be appreciative if anyone knows of a plugin/way to alter the normal quote button in the visual editor so that it generates something similar to the b-quote button on the HTML side.

I can imagine some people would enjoy having the ability to have a couple quote buttons in the visual editor — one for code, one for block quotes, etc.

Anyways, thanks for the tip. It will certainly do for now.
