Error Establishing a Database Connection

  • Hello,

    I have been unable to access my website for the past several days due to an error which reads “Error Establishing a Database Connection”. I have tried to go through all of the steps required to repair the wordpress database. I added on “define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true);” to wp-config.php within Filezilla as well as directly into my Cpanel file manager, to no avail. When I try to access the page I still get the same error message. I also tried to run a manual repair of my phpMyAdmin files, also without success. What else can I do? Should I try to restore a backup of my site?

  • Get in touch with your hosting provider and ensure that the MySQL server has no issues

    If you can access the logs, it will tell you why the connection is failing. Your hosting provider too can check the logs for you.
