[Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Doesn’t work in 2.7 and a question

  • The plugin never successfully builds the sitemap under WP 2.7
    The usable memory is set at 24M and it fails after using 19M.

    Also, how can I create multiple sitemaps? My existing sitemap is getting too big. I’d like to split sitemaps into 3 files, e.g. categories.xml, tags.xml, posts-and-comments.xml
    How can I set up multiple sitemaps with this plugin?

  • Ever since I upgraded to WP 2.7, it says
    There was a problem writing your sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable.

    I confirm that the files are writable. I tried all advanced options too as advised. Please check.

    This may or may not be related. I have deactivated this plug-in in 2.7 becuase it caused a Fatal Error each time I posted / edited an entry or comment.

    It began to happen when I switched over to PHP5. If I returned the setting on my remote host to PHP4, then the problem was eliminated. I have chosen to deactivate the plugin because of the improvement in performance by using PHP5, plus PHP4 is being deprecated.

    it would be interesting to know which fatal error you got. The plugin is mainly tested on PHP5 so it would be surprising if there were any PHP version related errors.
