I just noticed this starting yesterday. Files previously added to dropbox show up fine in Blighty explorer. Any new file I have added since yesterday doesn’t show in Blighty Explorer, even though it shows in my dropbox folder.

I had been using this pluggin for over a year without problem until yesterday.

  • I’ve got the same problem. I can separately add folders and files through the Dropbox website, but these aren’t shown through my site. I’ve left it 30 mins and refreshed, closed chrome, used internet explorer but I can only see the folders and files that were there weeks ago. Also I can still upload files through blighty which show up in Dropbox, but not through my site and Blightly.
I love the plugin and would appreciate help to get it working again.

Thank you both for your feedback. With the latest version of the plugin, it’s now using v2 of Dropbox’s API instead of v1. I will take a look at the code and report back here (hopefully with a fix).

I searched Dropbox’s forums and found this response:

When using includeMediaInfo, there can be a delay on results being returned while the media information is prepared.

They will get listed once the information is available, but this can take a variable amount of time, especially if there are many files or a lot of activity in the account.

This plugin does use includeMediaInfo, so it’s to be expected; and the files will show eventually. I’m not happy with that though, so I’ll be working on a fix.

    Thanks for your patience.

v2.0.2 should improve the refresh rate from Dropbox between uploading a new file and it appearing via this plugin. Note there is still a 60-second cache built into this plugin to prevent recurrent API calls.

    Thanks!

    v2.0.2 fixed it.

    Thanks!

    Hello–

How long does this delay last? I uploaded a file through the browser, which has been working for months. My first try was half an hour ago but it does not display yet.

    Hi Jim

It should normally be within 60 seconds (that’s the plugin’s cache setting). However Dropbox sometimes has API and server issues and I’ve occasionally seen it take longer. I’ve also read on Dropbox’s developer forums (about a month ago) that it can take a while for large media / image files to appear while it indexes and extract the media info.

How long have you experienced this?

    Chris

    Heck, Chris–
    Thanks for your response.
I don’t know how long this has been going on, just noticed today. It was working about a month ago, I believe.
I received email notices reporting the successful upload of two files (actually four emails, since I tried to upload one three times.) Both files are PDFs less that 1 Mb.

    Hi Jim,

I hope to have an answer here in a day or two. (My other/paying job has to take priority!)

Hi again Jim – I’m not able to recreate your issue with new uploads not showing. If you’d like me to help further would you be able to head over to my site and request help from there? I can then dialog with you easier and hopefully get this resolved. Thanks!
