• I don’t know if I’m happy about it. I like the clean look of black ink on white paper but I went for a different look. Please visit my site and tell me if it’s hard to read. Is the notebook background OK or should I scrap it. You won’t hurt my feelings….please be honest!
    Thanks….

I changed the background to the color you suggested. Interesting. I think it makes it easier to read. I kind of missed the lines though so I made the lines lighter. Still there but barely visible. I think it might give me a headache to look at for very long though. What do you think?

I’d have to say the song that downloads automatically is kind of annoying. I’m on a 56 k and it ties up my bandwidth for… well, a long time.
You could let people listen to it on request instead.
I suspect the notebook lines will get old after a while.
I don’t want to sound negative, but you asked for honest feedback.

I agree about the song and will probably scrap it unless I can figure out how to have it load in the background after the rest of the page loads. You can do this with Flash but I’m not sure about .php.
I agree about the color. It’s an odd yellow. From one extreme to the other. I’ll play with it some more tomorrow.

Mostly, for me, the blue lines on the page *not* matching up with the text baseline is really annoying and distracting. If there was a way to pull this effect off, it could be quite awersome, but I imagine you are going to find it very difficult to achieve.
In addition, bolding links on hover cause page shift, which IMO, is not pretty. You may look into shifting color, case, underline state, background color, and or an icon. These will allow for viusal change, without disturbing the rest of the page.

Using line-height:…px where … is the exact distance between the two lines could work when the starting-point is exactly wright and the font-size is not manipulated by someone in his or her browser. You could avoid this perhaps by making the distance between the lines a bit larger.
My favorite color always was the light blueish paper (when I was still young ?? )
I like the design. Gives it something simple and cosy, not too designerish (bad english). I had a design once with typewriter paper and Courier as font. Same idea.
