Everything is up to date. WP 4.7.5; all plugins and themes up to date.

Just after installing, I get the following error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-google-analytics-events/includes/functions.php on line 158

Sure enough, when I look at line 158, I see this:

    $extracted = [

The plugin will not activate, so is currently not usable.

The rest of the site seems unaffected (since it won’t activate with the error).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi @bloxblox

I’m guessing that you are running with an old version of PHP.
    Can you check wich one?

    So yeah, old.

No my server. Didn’t think to check.

I’ll have to do without for this project.

    Thanks anyway.
