Hi, I was hoping someone could help me. I’ve been playing around with Caldera forms and I really like it. Like, Love it. I’ve been figuring out how to use Caldera to post forms from the front-end. With the exception of figuring out how to re-route post entries to the new post, everythings been going fine.

But then I hit a snag with the file uploader. I’ve tried both, the regular and the advanced, and neither work. At first I was using the regular file uploader and I was very confused when the form wouldn’t submit and the page would just reload (no error message or “sorry, your form couldn’t submit” or something like that). The form submitted fine when I removed the file uploader. Then I switched to the advanced so I could see what was happening when I uploaded.

I was able to successfully submit a form that included a JPG file that was 167KB. Pretty tiny. I then tried with a PNG file that was 717KB. On that one the form seemed to upload the file (the progress bar on the file went completely green and the progress said 717 of 717KB), but when the form tried to submit, it got stuck and reloaded the page.

On the form itself, where I set the file uploader field, I specify that JPG and PNG are allowed, separated by a comma.

So far this has been the only hiccup I can find. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Shirley D.

Just as an update: I just checked on that image I THOUGHT was successfully uploaded (the tiny img), but it turns out that it only said it was successfully uploaded, but in fact it wasn’t uploaded at all. All I saw in my media folder was a square box with the image’s name, but no actual image. So it turns out that the file uploaded hasn’t worked at all.

Thanks for using Caldera Forms. I know this is frustrating to work through but it’s also very hard to help without knowing what version of Caldera Forms and Caldera Custom Fields you are using (do you have Custom Fields 2.1 and Caldera Forms 1.5.1 which have fixes for these types of issues) and the results of PHP error logging?

If you open a support ticket at https://calderaforms.com/support we can help you walk through the process of identifying and fixing these issues on your site.
