• If a user enters one point of information, eg Town/suburb, the plugin can not return accurate results if your country has suburbs/towns/locations with the same name. You will be provided the results of one only. The plugin needs a way to differentiate. A possible solution could be an autoguess/complete function to allow the user to easily enter their full address or at least suggest suburb & postcode. The plugin does offer an autoguess/complete feature for only postcode however this does not fix the issue.

When we asked about this oversight the developer wanted us to pay them to address their products own failure. Best consider other map wp plugins that have this feature as standard.

Your suggestion exists already “allow the user to easily enter their full address or at least suggest suburb & postcode” You can add those instructions in the Search Address Label box now so that a site visitor knows they should add more information. The base plugin does not do everything under the sun, that is what the add-ons are for. Pretty much all WP plugins sell add-ons, otherwise the plugins tend to become orphans, if developed as someones hobby or school project. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for your reply. You feature does allow the user to enter as much info as possible however users are tend to only enter a single point of info eg. there town, or postcode (even when instructed in labels). A autoguess/complete feature for addresses provides a guaranteed & accurate result which I feel should be the most important feature of any Map plugin/program.

The paid plugin upgrade feature (experience) which we purchased offers a autoguess/complete feature for only postcode. This feature is half complete for this reason alone. Postcodes can cover multiple suburbs and large geographical areas in countries like Australia & the USA (Particularly in rural areas). The Google Maps API which your plugin utilises targets where Google thinks the middle of postcode is which can exclude the dealer/store closest to the user. Adding an extra data point (eg Suburb) would fix this.

Hi Santo, Agreed Google is more restrictive with their algorithms/logic, they claim that more detailed and accurate search for Google Map is a proprietary tool and they do not allow third party that level of detail. Lance has been trying to find a better solution then Google Maps for years. He has built features into add-ons to accommodate Googles “we own the earth ” attitude. For Australia we always suggest append which is also part of the Experience add-on. At least then, when they search it will only search Australia suburb or postal codes. The Premier product has more features that go deeper into the bowels of Google MAP search. But that isnt what this forum is for. This forum should only be about the BASE WP plugin. And having the features you mention is not part of the base plugin. I hope you change your rating of this plugin based on the free SLP plugin alone and the support you received which was also free to any SLP user via forums.
