How to add downloaded theme?

  • I have downloaded a theme from word press. It is not one of the themes that can be added with one click. I downloaded the information into my program files in winzip. Now what? I don’t know how to make it my theme.

  • unzip your the .zip file for your theme. move the entire folder for your theme to your wordpress folder > wp-content > themes. now log into your wordpress admin, go to design and you should see the theme available. just click on it and you’ll have the option to activate it at the top of the pop up.

    To add new themes to your current install of WordPress does involve a few steps which are outlined in the WordPress Codex Using Themes. Take a look at the “Adding New Themes” section.
