I’ve been trying to change the menu font for a few hours to no avail. The Theme Options pages don’t let me do it. My background image on my home page has a white top on it, so the white font for the menu, and for the website title and tagline, are nearly invisible. Is there a way to set these 2 font colors without adding custom CSS?

I was finally able to find a workaround under a different settings menu, the ‘Customize’ menu under ‘Appearance’ rather than using the ‘Theme Options’.

Oddly, the “Enable Transparent header” setting is off by default with this theme, but the theme has a transparent header by default…until you scroll…which makes no sense. Once enabling the transparent header, I was able to change the color of the menu font.

    Hi joyryde,
Sorry for the confusion! Just to be clear, your theme options settings are working, correct? The transparent header menu settings can be set from theme options > transparent header options, and if not using the transparent header the menu settings pull from theme options > menu settings. Is there a way that we can make this more clear for other users? We would love any feedback you can give!

    Cheers!

It’s working now; the confusion is that the Appearance > Customize > Header Settings > Transparent Header Options is turned off by default, even though it’s turned ON in the ‘Customize’ menu. Once I turned it on in there, it let me change the font color.

    THANKS!

One other problem; the WordPress Admin Toolbar doesn’t display on the website, it only shows while in the Admin.

Also finding that on your demo site, your pages don’t have a transparent header, yet your home page does…but on my site, using your imported theme, that’s not the same, and the page headers are invisible because the pages are white at the top:

    https://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend/about-us/

Nowhere on the Transparent Header Options does it allow me to replicate how your demo is, showing the home page with a white menu and a page (About Us for example) with a non-transparent header…? Or am I missing something?

Ugh. OK, I fixed it, and AGAIN it was because the option was only in the Customize menu, rather than the Theme Options.

Only remaining issue is that the Admin Bar is completely grey and has no text or links on it when viewing the site. Something in your CSS causes it to be completely unuseable:

You can enable a transparent header for just your homepage from Theme Options > Home Page Header.
From your wordpress admin panel go to Users > Your Profile. Do you have “Show Toolbar when viewing site” enabled?

Hi Hannah! I figure out the transparency issue, but the toolbar does’t work, as you can see in my screenshot. It’s just a blank grey line. Yes, I have Show Toolbar when viewing site active. It is by default.

I haven’t heard of any others experiencing that issue when using Ascend theme. Try temporarily activating another theme to see if the issue is caused by the theme. Let me know!

Hi, I changed it to the 2017 theme and the toolbar works perfectly, see screenshot:

Upon changing back, it turns gray and doesn’t work. Additionally, I used the WordPress Reset plugin to reset the entire website, so this is a clean install.

It’s strange that I can’t get this issue to repeat on any of my sites. Upon resetting your site did you clear your cache? Have you also tried deactivating all your plugins to test if any are conflicting?

I did. I also tested it in Safari and Firefox, it’s the same on all browsers. I have very few plugins, and deactivated them all in bulk, and it doesn’t change it.

    Hey,
Can you tell me if the admin bar shows on any page? Like is it not working on home but working on about?

Have you tried turning off CloudFlare (especially clearing it after you deactivate plugins)?

You have a plugin that is lazy loading images but it’s running nonstop. It keeps loading and loading. Try deactivating that.

THe bar doesn’t show anywhere on the site, except as a gray, blank line.

I just added the WPRocket plugin an hour ago, it wasn’t there for the last 2 days of testing the theme, and that’s what has the Image Lazy Loading on it, so that’s not it either. I’m not seeing any issue with the image loading with it activated, on any browser?

I did clear the cloudflare cache, and also put it into development mode. Neither makes a difference.

Hmm, I can’t find any way to recreate.

Using Chrome or any browser inspect an image. That was how I could see the lazy load going crazy.

Can you send me a list of your plugins and which php version you are using. I’ll try and build an exact recreate and see if I can figure out why you don’t have an admin menu.
