Currency per User
-
Hi
Great product. I have Pro.
Is it or would it be possible to assign currency per user? I mean specific user rather than role. I also use WC Vendor and it would be handy to assign a specific currency to each vendor for example.Haider

Hi,
Sorry for the delay. I’m not sure I understood you correctly – do you mean like Booster’s “Currency per Product” module (“WooCommerce > Settings > Booster > Prices & Currencies > Currency per Product”), but instead of setting currency for each product manually, you want the plugin to automatically assign currency to product according to product’s author (user)? Is that correct, or did I misunderstood you? If that’s correct – as mentioned at the moment you can do so by manually setting currency for each product, but I think I could add the feature to automatically assign currency according to some user/currency table.
Best regards,
TomHi Yes not quite
I am using WC Vendor to have multi vendors which I actually assign to agents indifferent countries. So each country has its own range of priced up products in their currency. I pay them commission but the commission always gets calculated in the base currency. Well actually value of vendor shop currency commission but (in our case)in sterling (£).
So if i give 10% commission on $100 USD it shows £10 not USD. I want it to be in Vendors shop currency so if Vendor was assigned currency then I am hoping the commission to them would then be in their currency. I could then do auto payments.
I hope this is clear

hi again
i meant to mention that I use Booster to assign currency and country per product and those products are only visible in the required country. So i was hoping Booster (PRO) could go a step further in refining my solution.

Actually looking at your answer again I’d be interested in what you mean by user assigning by currency table.
Is that the same as assigning a currency to a specific user? As in User X trades in USD and Y in CAD and Z in GBP and so on?

Hi,
Again sorry for the delay.
Regarding vendors plugin and commissions – not sure it depends on Booster. Did I understand it correctly – you have orders in different currencies, but vendors plugin still calculates commissions only in base currency? By the way – we are developing our own marketplace plugin, which will be compatible with Booster, however it’s not ready yet – we are going to release first version in 2 weeks.
Now regarding second part of the question – yes, I could try to do that tomorrow. That is – assign currency to a user. I’m planning to extend Booster’s “Currency per Product” module, and add some “user -> product currency” table to options. Will get back to you about this asap (hopefully tomorrow).
Best regards,
TomHi Tom,
Thanks for the response. And yes you understood correctly.
I appreciate that assigning currency may not be the solution but since all other parts of booster seem to work ok with WC vendor then I was simply hoping.
Any other multi Vendor solution would be interesting to look at.
Thanks for your help and happy to test out new options.

Hi,
As promised – I’ve made the necessary changes to the plugin. Please download the development version here – https://booster.io/dev/. You will need to uninstall the old plugin version first (don’t worry your saved settings won’t disappear). Now in “WooCommerce > Settings > Booster > Prices & Currencies > Currency per Product” I’ve added new section “Additional Options”. Please enable “Currency per Product Authors” checkbox there and save module’s settings. After that in bottom “Currencies Options” section, you should see new “Product Authors” field, where you can select product authors (i.e. users) for each currency. Hope I understood your request correctly, and this is what you asked for. Please let me know if that was it or if you have any questions. And if you like Booster, please leave us a rating. By the way I’ve also added “Currency per Product Authors User Roles”, “Currency per Product Categories” and “Currency per Product Tags” there, but this you probably won’t need.
Regarding vendors plugin commissions currency – will take a look at it.
Best regards,
TomThank you very much I will try it in a day or so. I will do a backup first.
Also does it replace the standard or Pro version? I am Pro user.
Thanks
HaiderDev version replaces “free” (i.e. “standard” ) plugin. Plus version should remain with no changes.
Best regards,
TomThank you for your support by the way.
I did all the above. It does seem to be what I was asking. However (and this is not your fault of course) it does not seem to affect the commission currency on WC Vendors.
I did a test purchase and although amount is correct (in numbers) it still shows base currency. As far as I can tell commission is specific to the Vendor (User).
I know it would be more in your interest to have this working on your own upcoming Marketplace product rather than help out WC Vendors. I have not fully committed to them yet(not yet gone Pro) so I am open to whoever solves this problem and does all the other bits right too.
So far in tandem with your product WC works well with just this issue. Which I appreciate maybe unique to me as a requirement. I bet it isn’t though. ??

Hi Again,
Was chatting to some other folk including WC Vendor and other developers. One idea that came up was setting a ‘Base’ currency per Vendor. Not sure how that differs to what you have already done, but worth a thought?
