• Hi,

I would appreciate some advice in setting up a blog on wordpress. The version I am using is: 2.6.3.

I am a newbiie to all of this, so I decided to try a free blog from Rob Benwell (blogging to the bank), where he supplies you with files to downlod to create a blog, using content that he supplies. I thought it would be a good way to get some experience of what is involved in setting a blog up and trying to get some income from it. He gives step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

So far, I have got my domain and hosting, downloaded an ftp client, and uploaded the relative files to my site.

The next step in the istructions that he supplies goes as follows:

“Now you need to log-in to your WordPress admin to activate the blog theme by going to:

    https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Once in you need to click on the ‘Presentation’ and then click on the ‘Free Money Making Blog’ you’ve just uploaded which will activate the theme.”

This is where I am stuck, because when I go to https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin, it takes me to the Dashboard for my domain. I can’t see anywhere
entitled “Presentation” to click on that page, or on any of the links from that page. So any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Look under “Design” or “Appearance” tabs

    Thanks.

I have tried that, but still can’t find any way to access the files that I have uploaded. My FTP software is showing that the files have been uploaded to my domain.

I have noticed that in the Design/Themes section it says that I have one broken theme. It doesn’t say the name of the theme, but states that the style sheet is missing.
