Basic setup
-
Before installing the plugin, I had two subdomains with DNS A records pointing to the same IP address and both pointed to the same website. So, both https://help.careboxhealth.com and https://guru.careboxhealth.com.
Since https://help.careboxhealth.com is the WordPress Address (and Site Address) configured in Settings/General, when someone enters https://guru.careboxhealth.com it reflects back as https://help.careboxhealth.com.
I want to have users who enter https://guru.careboxhealth.com only see that base (NOT help.careboxhealth.com) in all their URLs. I also want them to have a different landing page than users who go to https://help.careboxhealth.com.
I am pretty sure that is exactly what this plugin is going to help me do – once I get it set up correctly!
I installed the plugin and configure both https://help.careboxhealth.com and https://guru.careboxhealth.com as “used domain” to go to two different pages (“original URI”).
The mapping works for https://help.careboxhealth.com (it goes to the landing page I configured). That is nice.
But there is no change on the behavior for https://guru.careboxhealth.com. It still goes to the same place as https://help.careboxhealth.com (including the new landing page I configure in the plugin!) and the URL still reflects back as https://help.careboxhealth.com.
Also, as I tried to experiment with different mappings, I noticed that the plugin has no way (that I could see) to “remove mappings”. So now I have multiple entries for the same “used domain”…
Thanks for your assistance!
